Seasonal Reports are based on the last 10-95 years of historical data
Each report is generated with all the available data for that financial instrument. DOW stock report in Dow 30 group is unavailable due to a lack of enough available data. SPX report is generated with 95 years of history dating back to Jan 1, 1928.
Barcharts
Each tab of the report displays a bar chart showing the % gain or loss for a date range.
% Gain and Loss are based on the direction of the Opportunity. Some Opportunities are Short and some are Long.
The following tabs are in all reports:
Buy & Hold
Each bar in the Buy & Hold bar chart shows % gain or loss of a financial instrument when it was purchased on the first trading day of the year and sold on the last trading day of the year.
Reports by Months
There are 12 tabs for each month of the year. The corresponding bar chart shows the % gain or loss when the Financial Instrument was purchased on the first day of the month and sold on the last day of the month.
Report by Qtrs
There are tabs for each of the 4 quarters of the year. The corresponding bar chart shows the % gain or loss when SPX was purchased on the first day of the quarter and sold on the last day of the quarter.
Report by Seasons
There are tabs for each of the 4 seasons of the year. The corresponding bar chart shows the % gain or loss when the Financial Instrument was purchased on the first day of the season and sold on the last day of the season.
Custom Date Range Reports
With TradeSeasonals you can analyze and create custom reports for any financial instrument for any date range. Trade Seasonals Algorithm finds the most seasonally active date ranges and displays the list on the opportunities table each day of the year.
Algorithmic Date Ranges
Trade Seasonals algorithm finds the absolute best date ranges for each day.
The left side table in the Trade Seasonals lists the top seasonally active financial instruments daily.
MFE & MAE
MFE is Maximum Favorable Excursion, the percentage is based on the maximum value the financial instrument has achieved during the date range.
MAE is Minimum Adverse Excursion, the percentage is based on the minimum value the financial instrument has reached during the date range.
Presidential Election Year Cycle – SPX report only
There are 4 tabs labeled as 1) Presidential Election Years 2) Presidential Election+1 Years 3)Midterm Election Years 4)Midterm Election+1 Years
The seasonal data is filtered by every 4 years. These tabs are different than the initial tab of Buy & Hold which shows the data for the financial instrument for all of the available years. The tab labeled “Midterm Election+1 Years” corresponds to the year 2023. In 2024, the corresponding tab would be “Presidential Election Years”.
